A)   Over-commitment of resources by top management towards employee welfare, improving the environment and community service.
B)   Insufficient attention paid to inflating stock value, paper profits, accounting tricks and top executive compensation.
C)   Deregulation.
(Hint: corporate lobbyists worked very hard on this.)
